COVID-19  Policies and Procedures for Health and Sanitation

Updated 9/04/2020

The new procedures in place are to ensure that the farm will operate safely and in the best practices abiding by the most current local health order and public guidelines. As a community, we will all need to do our part to safely enjoy what the farm and animals have to offer. Please understand the following practices are required if you are to be on the property and can change without notice as restrictions are lifted or added by the government or county. Your patience does not go unnoticed and is much appreciated as we navigate and restructure during these ever changing times. Failure to comply with guidelines will result in terminating participation in the lesson or camp and needing to leave the farm.  Thank you for your support in keeping everyone safe while enjoying your time on the farm.

What you can expect from us:

🐎 We will follow physical distancing guidelines (6 feet between individuals).

🐎 We will limit class sizes to ten or fewer including instructors and stagger sessions so fewer people are coming and going at the same time.

🐎 Masks - All staff will carry masks and use them when interacting closely with parents or children.  Masks are not required for farm class instructors while we are outside in open spaces. A face mask will be worn by your riding instructor when working closely with riders, during mounting, dismounting. For the Therapeutic Riding Program, masks are mandatory for instructors, volunteers and participants.

🐎 Disinfecting - all equipment, gear and surfaces handled between each and every student will be thoroughly disinfected. All items that have been used will be placed in a separate location for disinfecting.

🐎 Sanitizing - All staff and instructors will wash and/or sanitize hands between any interactions, and upon entering and exiting the property.

🐎 Horses - Horses will be wiped down on the neck and mane after each ride and handled only if necessary throughout the day.

🐎 Tack room and office - This area is currently for staff and horse owners only and limited to 1 individual at a time in the building. Your gear and items will be brought out to you in a safe manner.

What we expect from you:

🐎  Good health - If you or anyone in your household has had a fever or shown signs of sickness in the last week, please reschedule to come back in 14 days.  We are not responsible for checking symptoms.

🐎 Masks - Everyone entering the farm is required to have a mask with them.  Parents must wear masks.  Children are not required to wear a mask when in open, outdoor spaces.  Sometimes masks will be required in order to participate in certain activities where there is closer contact.  Masks are required for instructors, volunteers and participants  in the Therapeutic Riding Program.

🐎 Sanitization - Washing and sanitizing upon entry and exit of the property is required. We ask you to do your best to bring your own sanitization supplies.

🐎 Time - Please ensure you arrive promptly at your designated time slot and are finished on time, as well. We have a lot of detailed sanitizing to do in between visitors and cannot risk any overlap. We also must maintain a limited number of people on the property.

🐎 Limited numbers - We ask when you drop your child off, we have only one (1) parent or guardian to sign the student in/out. Please do not bring the whole family on the property. For individual lessons, one (1) parent may stay on the property for the duration of the lesson, but we ask that siblings do not come to watch.
