Laughing Buck Farm LLC's mission is to inspire a love for farming, horsemanship, gardening, and nature through the rhythms of the seasons and hands-on learning and play- all in an outdoor, farm setting.
We have been getting children outside since 2013!
In 2018, Laughing Buck Farm established a 501c3 non-profit public charity, Friends of Laughing Buck Farm, to develop and support educational and therapeutic horse and farm experiences for EVERYONE. We are committed to developing programs that are fully accessible regardless of economic class, culture, gender, sexual identity or set of abilities. We celebrate inclusion and diversity and want you to know you are welcome here! Head on over to our nonprofit website to find out more about scholarships, volunteering, and getting involved in our beautiful community.

FarmHer Rosemary continues to find therapeutic benefits in this unique farm setting and loves exposing kids, adults and families to the joys of connecting with nature, moving their bodies through work and play, and developing relationships with creatures great and small.
“We get by with a little help from our friends... and our beautiful community.
Huge thanks to each and every teacher who loves these kids and critters
and helps make Laughing Buck Farm feel like one big family. “

Co-Founder, Farm Manager, Farm School Founder & InstructorWhen Rosemary and her husband Greg moved to Fort Collins in 2007, they spent the first several years raising their two boys and restoring the land, which had been a foreclosed property. Rosemary started a preschool co-op with a few families and that was her first taste of working with children in a farm setting -- she was hooked. As her kids started school, Rosemary and Angela Thoreson created a weekly class with their youngest kids and several more from the community and Farm School was born, where kids of all ages work, play and learn outside as they ride and care for horses, gather eggs, milk goats, feed the pigs, care for the rabbits, tend to the garden and swing in the huge haybarn. Over the years, Rosemary converted more of the farm into an outdoor learning space, began to offer horse boarding and riding lessons, became a 4-H leader and created summer camps which continue to grow and develop.
She founded the nonprofit, Friends of Laughing Buck Farm, in 2018 to develop educational and therapeutic horse and farm experiences for everyone.
In addition to her role as "FarmHer" Rosemary is also an English teacher, with degrees in Linguistics and a Master's degree in English. She served four years in the U.S. Air Force as a Korean linguist--she has a strong love of words, cultures and languages.

Co-Founder
Howdy... and welcome to Laughing Buck Farm.
Around here I am most often referred to as "Honey" or "Dada". But you can just call me Greg.
While Rosemary is at the heart of the farm community, I am the one to fix the fences, irrigate the pastures, and try to keep things running smoothly. No job is too tough, just give me some time.
But time is sometimes tough, as much of mine is spent down at Colorado State University where I am a faculty member in the College of Agricultural Sciences. I teach courses in global interdependence of population and food, agricultural policy, as well as agricultural technology and sustainability.
Our little family farm is a way we try to live out principles of sustainability, stewardship, and community. We invite you to come visit, take part in some of the bounty of our local agriculture and community, and take some of it home with you.
