Laughing Buck Farm LLC's mission is  to inspire a love for farming, horsemanship, gardening, and nature through the rhythms of the seasons and hands-on learning and play- all in an outdoor, farm setting.

We have been getting children outside since 2013!

Our Instructors

  • Rachel

Barn Manager, Riding Instructor, Summer Camp Teacher, Adaptive Riding Program Coordinator,

    PATH intl., CTRI, ESMHL

My name is Rachel, and I have been working as an instructor at Laughing Buck Farm since 2021.

A little about me: I have a background in hunter/jumper and dressage, and a BS in Equine Science from CSU, where my Honors Thesis was on misunderstood equine facial expressions. I have spent several years guiding and packing in the Zirkel wilderness for guest ranches, as well as hitching and driving teams of draft horses for guests. I have been teaching or in the Adaptive Riding field for 22 years now, and am a certified CTRI from PATH Intl, as well as a Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning.

I've been in business as a donkey and horse trainer for about ten years and recently started a rescue, where I rescue, rehab, retrain, and rehome donkeys, particularly ones with behavior issues. I also am a published author with a book series on donkey care and training that has sold over 1000 copies worldwide. It is hard to out-stubborn me!

Needless to say, I am passionate about kids, riding, equine health and behavior, and have dabbled in just about everything! I am always continuing to learn and expand my knowledge, and I love encouraging children to do the same.

My biggest thrill is getting students to the point in their horsemanship and equestrian skills where they can start thinking about how to be a trainer themself--how do you evaluate, adapt, and work with each animal to fit that animal's needs? What sort of rider do you need to be that day?

  • Belinda

Instructor, Farm School Teacher, Riding Instructor, Summer Camp Instructor

I moved from Kansas a few years ago and was fortunate to have connected with Laughing Buck Farm where I'm getting all my "needs" met at one place. In Kansas I farmed 80 acres and ran a 21 horse riding school after my full time job as a special education teacher. In the summers I lead Horsemanship and Pioneer Camps on our farm. In my spare time I was the county-wide 4-H horse leader.

My strength is breaking down skills and tasks into small steps and encouraging students to progress through these as fast as they are comfortable. I like to teach a skill and then use it in a game, so I prefer to teach in small groups of 2-4 students. I stress groundwork, balance and control. As a youth,I participated in jumping competitions and as an adult I learned Western riding.

I love to see students increase their competence and widen their experiences by setting goals and reaching them! I'm also passionate about encouraging family bonding through sharing interests in equine activities. Other than riding myself, my favorite thing is teaching other horsecrazy kids and I'm very excited about being involved in the Equestrian Club as well.

  • Gray

    Barn Manager/ Riding Instructor
Gray is an accomplished Hunter-Jumper with 16+ years of riding and showing experience.

While growing up in Texas and working with younger riders through IEA, Gray developed a passion for education and educating young riders on essential foundational riding skills.

Gray moved to Colorado in 2022 with her cat (Hela) and two horses (Loki and Sleipnir) in order to attend Colorado State University and get her bachelors in Agriculture Education. Her last year of college Gray began interning at Laughing Buck Farm and fell in love with what the farm had to offer.

Gray became the barn manager in Sept 2025 and strives to ensure the horses and students have the best care possible.

  • Jonathan

    Farm School Teacher
Jonathan is one of the Farm School Teachers here at Laughing Buck Farm-and he loves every second of his job! Wrangling kids, horses, chickens, goats, and pigs are some of the daily activities he loves the most.

His favorite parts of his days at LBF include him telling his beloved childhood Troll-stories at lunchtime, teaching living history, and sharing fun outdoor skills with our “Jr. Farmers.” If you listen quietly at LBF-sometimes you might hear him strumming out old-time mountain music on one of his Banjos!

Jonathan received his degree in Agricultural Education at CSU, and is an Eagle Scout, as well as CPR and formerly WFR Certified. When he isn’t at LBF, you can find him out hunting, fishing, or traipsing around with his Corgi, Scoobie.

  • Lindsey

    Riding Instructor

Horses have been a part of my life for most of my life. My aunt and uncle took me to a dude ranch in Colorado when I was 7…I immediately went home and started begging to take lessons. Lucky my mom caved!!

When I was a kid and teen, I did h/j and dressage showing. In college at UCF, I was the captain of the dressage team.
My teachers taught us jumping but they all had a heavy heavy focus on dressage. Learning quiet soft aids and a balanced independent seat. Really being an active leader in the handling and riding process. They are the skills to make a strong quiet safe rider!

I believe in a low pressure, positive environment for learning. Obviously, after safety is established. I will also be more fired up than my students when cool stuff happens for them.

I am excited to be a part of the LBF team & I look forward to helping you on your equine adventures!!
