The Laughing Buck Farm is quickly claiming a special spot in our hearts. We can pretend it’s ours, even if it’s just for a few hours, we can let go, get dirty and unplug {except for taking pictures and the occasional instagram story… I can’t help it}.

FarmHer Rosemary shines of happiness, she’s chillaxed and curious… it’s contagious and inspiring. I’m not always good at sharing the things I hold dear, maybe because I’m afraid to let go or lose it, but FarmHer Rosemary allows and encourages the kids to love on her animals and to care for them as if they were their own. It’s helping me allow people to get close to my favorite things too, after all, wonderful things are meant to share with wonderful people.

When I decided to unschool my kids this past May, one of my biggest hopes was to slow down, lower the stress, connect deeply with my kids, get curious and get outside in nature. Laughing Buck Farm has fulfilled all this and more.

FarmHer Rosemary invited the kids into her homeschooling farm class even though we make up half the class. Financially putting 3 kids in the class required some creative solutions. Luckily FarmHer Rosemary is very creative. Not only do the kids spend time doing farm chores, learning about animals, critters and plants, tending to and riding the horses while in farm class, as a family we trade volunteer time for a piece of the farm class tuition. Can you really ask for anything better? I find our volunteer time at the Laughing Buck Farm to be unique and precious. I treasure the opportunity to have more time together, connect and problem solve, more time for learning and experiencing this lifestyle we hope to have of our very own one day.

The kids love the feeling of helping, doing something good and being a part of the farm. They especially like cleaning the chicken coop, tending to the horses, delivering christmas trees using a horse wagon and figuring out how to outsmart the busy, sweet and sometimes naughty goats. And beyond that, I’ve noticed their confidence level go up; FarmHer Rosemary believes in them and gives them a gentle push outside their comfort zone. We’ve had so many amazing conversations about life lately. I know it’s partly because we’ve stepped away from school influences and partly because they get to be who they are and feel good about it. I feel like their minds are more open, more curious, more them, thinking with their own brains {because they have the space to do it} and Laughing Buck Farm has a lot to do with these amazing changes. We are grateful to be a part of such a magical place. It’s one of our favorite activities of the week.

And if you’re wondering who I am, my name is Sara. I am a wife and a mama of 4. I spend my days finding more ways to enjoy life and grow as a person, I wish to support my kids to find their way and fulfill their purpose, and love them through all the ups and downs. I am a doTERRA essential oil leader, sprinkling oily fairy dust all across the land. I’m on a total high when I help empower other families to care for themselves naturally, I love spreading wellness and hope and creating healers in homes.

Having a farm is a high maintenance business or even family asset. Being an owner of a farm holds a bigger responsibility not only to the farm, but also to the neighbors behind or beside you. You have to make considerations in order to have a good relationship towards people around you. Farming is quite interesting, the opportunity to grow money too is a big chance than other business. However, it is really high maintenance to the point that you have to master the needs of the farm.

Riding horses in a farm class is truly a wonderful thing! Also, talking about horses, they should get equine calmer to keep them calm and focus.
